My narrator interview with Audiobook Monthly Magazine and a nice review!

A new e-magazine was established recently devoted completely to audiobooks.  It features news & reviews, interviews with authors, narrators, producers and publishers and is called Audiobook Monthly Magazine.   I was interviewed for the magazine and one of my productions, the short story The Ghostly Rental by Henry James was reviewed by the publisher, Susan Keefe.

The magazine is currently free and is a great way to read about people in the audiobook business along with reviews of audiobooks that may interest you.  I highly recommend it.

To read my four-page interview, go here.   Susan's review of The Ghostly Rental can be found here.

Thank you to Susan and Audiobook Monthly Magazine for the opportunity to talk about my work and for the review!

My newest recording released on Audible today!

My recording of a classic short story by Henry James, The Ghostly Rental, is now for sale on Audible.

A young theology student discovers an old house while on his daily walks. There appears to be no one living there but something about the house strikes the young man as strange. After observing an old man entering the house, the student eventually befriends the man in order to discover what he can about the old house besides the gossip in the town. The old man once owned the house but now only visits it briefly four times per year. He claims to have killed his daughter with harsh words and now she haunts the house but agrees to meet him four times per year so that she may pay him rent. In return, he is not to inhabit the house. This tale is as much a story of the psychology of people as it is of ghosts. How much do grief, ego, spite, and revenge play into our ideas of ghosts and being 'haunted'? This was an early Henry James story before he wrote "The Turn of the Screw."

Recording update!

My next audiobook, Marilyn Monroe: My Little Secret by Tony Jerris, is now in post-production.  It should be for sale on Audible within 2-3 weeks.  I'll post here when it becomes available.

My next project will be a classic short story (of the spooky variety) by Henry James called "The Ghostly Rental."   Check back here for details!

Another solo in the catalog!

I finished recording the novella In the Cage by Henry James and it is now in the LibriVox catalog. You can find it here. This was a fun one due to the short chapters and the subject -- snooping and trying to put pieces together about other people's lives.

Now I need to figure out which book I'd like to record for my next solo.
I've found myself checking out the bestseller lists for the early 1900's. I hadn't realized that those lists even existed then but they did and it's interesting to discover what people were reading at the time.
I've found some little jewels that make recording a true pleasure.
